German-Russian Chamber of Commerce honored Hamburg-based game publisher INTENIUM with the award “The best Russian mid-size company in Germany”
Moscow/Hamburg, November 22nd, 2011 –INTENIUM GmbH that employs 68 people in two locations – Hamburg and Kaliningrad - was awarded the honorary prize “The best Russian mid-size company in Germany” by the German-Russian Chamber of Commerce (AHK). With this award, AHK singles out the innovation of the casual games developer and publisher as well as entrepreneurial spirit of the Founder and Managing Partner of the company – Konstantin Nikulin.
With this award, which is given out every two years, AHK strives to recognize excellence and innovation of medium-sized and family-run German and Russian companies. In 2009 the award for the best Russian company in Germany was given to the well-known Kaspersky Lab that develops antivirus software. INTENIUM produces violence-free computer games designed specifically for female audience (casual games) in the Russian Kaliningrad. Since 2003, these games are distributed through the company's office in Hamburg. "Casual games were just a niche product a few years ago," says Konstantin Nikulin. "However, today they are the fastest-growing segment of the gaming market."
With 42% of votes, the prize was handed to INTENIUM through Konstantin Nikulin by the former Prime Minister of Russian Federation Yevgeny Primakov. The competitors were the well-known companies both in Russia and Germany: Dovgan (food producer) and PROMT (translation software). "We are very proud of this honorary award,“ said INTENIUM’s Founder in the atrium of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow in front of 300 invited guests. "This award goes to all my colleagues from Hamburg and Kaliningrad!”
